analysis of Ross Kemp's on Gangs

Today we watched one episode of Ross Kemp on Gangs to really understand the different techniques that go into interviews. Ross Kemp is particularly good at engaging the audience and the subjects he interviews. By using the technique of a 'walk and talk' and 'POV' shot of him in the car it makes the audience feel more involved in the documentary. He goes into detail about the Columbian gangs and raises it as an issue that is informing the watchers of a different culture to our own. I liked the technique of a walk and talk interview as it made me feel more like I was in the presence and more relaxed about the questions he was asking the gang member. I want to use this type of technique in my own documentary when I mention vaping and then, later on, use a voiceover to express my opinion like Ross Kemp did. When talking to one of the gang members he asked very specific questions and then, later on, used the technique of a voice over to express his own opinion about the answers the subject was giving him. As a person who doesn't vape or smoke, I feel like this will be an interesting use of sound and connotation.
